Town of Barnstable Information

The town of Barnstable, the seat of Cape Cod's Barnstable County government, is made up of eight villages: Hyannis, Hyannisport, Barnstable Village, West Barnstable, Osterville, Centerville, Cotuit, and Marstons Mills. Along the north side of the Cape on Route 6A are Barnstable Village, with a compact Main Street anchored by an imposing granite county courthouse, and West Barnstable, containing a handful of delightful specialty stores and views of acres of salt marsh leading out to Cape Cod Bay. Along the south coast are Cotuit, Marstons Mills, Osterville and Centerville, all gracious residential sections.

While Barnstable is an ideal location for exploring the rest of the Cape and the Islands, there's also fun to be had nearby.

To read more about the Barnstable Community, please visit the Town of Barnstable Community Bulletin Board.

Here is a list of Barnstable informational websites that you will find useful when moving into town:

  • Toad Hall Antique Cars ~ 288 Scudder Ave, Hyannisport ~ 508-778-4934 ~ Toad Hall kinda started out with a few sports cars housed in a shed behind the Simmons Homestead Inn in Hyannis Port on Cape Cod. Over the past dozen years the number of sheds and cars grew and grew. Finally when there were some three dozen cars, the sheds all got tied together and enclosed. Now there are more than 50 inside and another bunch outside that at least can get driven around. Most are classics from the 50s to the 80s. Most are English, all are red. There are several cars of which less than a dozen are in the States, but the rest simply will bring back happy memories to you car nuts.
