The First Congregational Church The First Congregational Church is located on Falmouth´s Historic Village Green. The first church on the green was finished in 1796, and in the open belfry was hung the sixteenth bell cast by Paul Revere. The bell is inscribed ´´The living to the church I call, and to the grave I summon all. Revere Boston 1796´´. The present structure was built in 1856, after contructing a new foundation and rolling the frame of the church across the green and into its present location. The Rev. William Bates became minister in 1858, but died the following year just after the birth of his daughter, Katharine Lee Bates. Miss Bates´ famous poem, ´´America the Beautiful´´ was first published in ´´The Congregationalist´´.

Falmouth Harbor Falmouth Harbor is a home for many sailing and motor vessels from around the world. It also docks the Island Queen, a boat that transports many people over to Martha´s Vineyard during the warmer months. This harbor was actually man-made in 1907 when a cut was made through a land barrier into Deacon´s Pond.
